Vocational Rehabilitation Services
Definition:
Those services identified in Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, which are provided in an individualized plan for employment necessary to assist an individual with a disability in preparing for, securing, retaining, or regaining an employment outcome that is consistent with the strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice of the individual.
Deeming
Definition:
The process by which the income and resources of an ineligible individual are considered to be available to a recipient when determining eligibility or payment amount.
Indexing
Definition:
Indexing is designed to provide some protection against inflation. After the first year of disability, a disabled employee's pre-disability earnings are usually increased (or indexed) by a certain percentage on an annual basis.
